After taking your pulses, looking at your tongue, hearing, and deeply listening to your concerns, I will make a determination of which acupuncture points I will use that day to treat your complaints.  I make that assessment not simply treating your symptoms but also determining root causes and contributing factors. I utilize, Chinese acupuncture theory with Japanese needles.  I may also apply deep breathing techniques, tai nai massage and cupping, to your treatment.

What is Acupuncture?

The ancient healing art of acupuncture is performed in the same way it has been since the beginning of Chinese history.  Acupuncture is based on a system of hundreds of points in your body where “pools of qi gather.” Qi is our vital life force. These acupuncture points are on meridians or pathways that connect to every organ of your body.

Basic western medicine research has recently verified the existence of acupuncture points.  In a study published in The Journal of Electron Spectroscopy and Related Phenomena, CT scans reveal anatomical structures of acupuncture points.  Furthermore, a new laboratory experiment reveals that acupuncture regulates steroid hormones to reduce biochemical reactions to stress.  The researchers note that acupuncture balances bodily biochemistry.

Biochemistry in the body is what the old wise doctors thousands of years ago called, Qi.
